Kate Morneault Takes First Place In Beta Alpha Psi Best Practices Competition

2015 Mar 30

Kate Morneault, a member of the Class of 2016 at Stonehill College, took first place in the International Impact category of the Beta Alpha Psi "Best Practices" Competition in Washington, D.C.

Morneault, along with her two teammates, will now move on to the National Competition in Milwaukee, WI this August. The students took the top prize for their year-round project that seeks to encourage and prepare accounting majors for Study Abroad opportunities. The Best Practices Competition requires teams to submit abstracts of their projects prior to presenting them at the regional meeting.

This year, more than half of Stonehill's Beta Alpha Psi candidates from the Class of 2016 are studying in areas around the world. To enable them to share their experiences and keep in contact with Stonehill, the students set up a Tumblr blog that could be easily viewed on the chapter's website, stonehillbap.org, under the tab "Thoughts From Abroad." They also held a number of meetings providing insights and opportunities to consider while abroad and are planning to enhance the project next year following a debriefing session next September.
