HOPE Service Immersion Program

Students who participate in the H.O.P.E. Service Immersion Program form community with one another during the five months leading up to their trip. They learn about the culture, history and issues of social injustice in the communities they are destined to visit and serve.

Stonehill College Students To Spend Spring Break Helping Others

Many Stonehill College students will be spending their spring break week helping those in need as part of the school's H.O.P.E. Alternative Spring Break Program. The following local residents will be traveling the week of March 9th to Wheeling, West Virginia where they will be working with the Appalachian Institute at Wheeling Jesuit University. While there, they will work on site at its Fresh Air Farms and learn about social justice issues ranging from mountain top removal, fracking, and addiction which are prevalent in the local community.

Many Stonehill College students will be spending their spring break week helping those in need as part of the school's H.O.P.E. Alternative Spring Break Program. The following local residents will be traveling the week of March 9th to Tennessee where they will be volunteering for the Sunset Gap Community Center. They will assist in construction of a wheelchair ramp and other home reconstruction for underserved families who otherwise would not be able to finance or execute these repairs.

The following local residents will be traveling the week of March 9th to Portland, Oregon where they will be volunteering at St. Andre Bessette Catholic Church. They will be working with the church's hospitality ministry, building community with those who are hungry, homeless, mentally ill, recovering from drug addiction and abuse, or living with intellectual and an developmental disabilities.

Many Stonehill College students will be spending their spring break week helping those in need as part of the school's H.O.P.E. Alternative Spring Break Program. The following local residents will be traveling the week of March 9th to Peru where they will be volunteering for the Yancana Huasy Project, which is a Congregation of Holy Cross missionary outreach program. It attends to children and their families who live with physical and mental challenges, including Downs' Syndrome and other distressing conditions.

The following local residents will be traveling the week of March 9th to New Orleans where they will be volunteering for the Saint Bernard Project, an award-winning rebuilding, nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that disaster-impacted communities in the greater New Orleans area recover in a prompt, efficient, and predictable way.
